Award Winning Safety

McWilliams Electric is proud to have a successful Safety Management System for others to emulate. The entire team is proud of their high safety rating and low EMR. This level of excellence has earned McWilliams Electric several industry safety awards. Our safety department is led by Jerry McGlynn who is recognized by the National Fire Protection Association as a Certified Electrical Safety Professional (CESCP). Jerry is also recognized by the Board of Safety Professionals as a Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) and as a Safety Trained Supervisor in Construction (STSC).

Jerry has successfully developed a culture of “Safety Always.” This reminds everyone to think safely during all phases of construction, not just in the beginning. Each week, every McWilliams project kicks off with a safety talk led by Foremen. Additionally, once per quarter all employees are included in safety training at the headquarters in Schaumburg. All job hazards are carefully evaluated by our safety team and project foremen using a Job Hazard Analysis and risk assessment. Nothing is more important than each employee being able to go home to their family everyday.
